Really interesting training and feel that I have a much better understanding.

One of my regrets is that I didn’t undertake this “Welcome To My World” experience before my mum passed as it gave me a real insight into what she must have gone through and how I could have understood better and handled things differently.

However, the experience was invaluable as we will all come into contact with those with dementia so having patience and understanding will go a long way to supporting that person, and ourselves.

So if you have an opportunity to attend the ‘Welcome To My World’ course at the Opportunity Learning Academy in #Ramsgate then I highly recommend to do so. Yes it’s challenging. Yes it’s a mind opener. And yes, it’s also empowering.
