Overview

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in Emergency First Aid.

The Emergency First Aid at Work  (EFAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require a fully trained first aider for their workplace. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent including the 1st October 2017 changes.

This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

 This course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only.

Candidates need a basic command of English defined as Level 2.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in Emergency First Aid.

This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

It is especially suited for nominated first aiders where your First Aid assessment is a low risk working environments, such as small offices or if your assessment identifies someone to hold a current Emergency First Aid at work qualification. This course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only.

Candidates need a basic command of English defined as Level 2.

 

What is covered in an Emergency First Aid at Work Course?

Candidates will develop the skills and confidence to offer basic life saving first aid skills and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, covering:

Adult resuscitation (CPR)

Burns and scalds

Choking adult

Communication and casualty care

Defibrillator prompts and how to respond

Defibrillator pad placement

Minor and severe bleeding

Role of the first aider including knowledge of health and safety regulations

Seizures

Shock

Unresponsive adult

 

Certification

On successful completion of the course the candidate will receive an Emergency First Aid at work certificate which is valid for three years. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.

Certificates are Regulated by Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)
